Board Room System at Park House Hotel, Bepton
Park House Hotel is a superb, family run hotel in Bepton near Midhurst, West Sussex and have recently completed an extension to a period Sussex barn containing a board room with A/V infrastructure installed by Reality Logic. The board room contains a 50" Pioneer plasma display, four point Polycom video conferencing system, table console for power and laptop connection, DVD and surround sound system. On top is this is an electric powered ceiling mounted screen.
Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club
Reality Logic have installed a number of a/v related systems for Brighton and Hove Albion football club in time for the new football season. The main project has been the installation of a projector in the community Study and Support centre, which also serves as the club's hospitality suite on match days. The projector is linked to a DVD player, PC input and the club's Sky system. Trainees on community courses, club officials doing presentations and hospitality guests can now all use the system to it's fullest, including being able to keep up with the latest football news on match days via Sky.
The club's Sky system is located some distance away and serves a number of screens around the ground. Instead of feeding the projector with a RF signal, Reality Logic installed a composite feed using a CAT5 distribution system which works very well and provides a much better picture than would have been possible.
Once on site, Reality Logic were asked to also mount a 42" plasma screen in another meeting and hospitality area, as well as wall mount a 32" LCD screen in the players' lounge.
In addition to the above systems, Reality Logic have also provided an audio feed solution for providing audio when recording games. An enclosure was mounted in the camera gantry with custom fittings to allow camera operators to supply video and audio feeds to a bank of DVD and video recorders in the manager's office.
"We have been really pleased with the work and service provided by Reality Logic." - Kevin Keehan, Commercial Manager, Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club.
Commercial KNX/EIB Lighting and Blind Control
Reality Logic have recently completed a KNX/EIB installation in the new offices of Satellite Direct UK near Arundel, West Sussex. The company have created a head office for 300 people in the structure of a large barn complex. The main office is three storeys high with an east/west aspect. Either end of the building have windows that run the entire height of the building with the blinds at each of these windows automatically controlled via light sensors at either end of the building that open and close them to meet the changing light levels. Each blind can also be manually controlled.
The lighting in the building is also managed by the KNX/EIB system and is intelligently switched. As the needs of the building changes so to can the lighting control - simply by reprogramming the system. For example, the top floor will be partitioned and when this happens the lighting can then be easily controlled on an office by office basis as opposed to the current whole floor implementation.
Areas such as the toilets and stairwells are controlled via infrared proximity sensors that are on timers meaning that lights are not left on any longer than required. The external lights are also linked in to intelligent timer and light level control that means they respond automatically to the light levels as they change over the year.
In addition to the KNX/EIB controlled system, Reality Logic also installed the infrastructure to support finger print controlled entry at every door.
Cottage Sonos Multi-room and Structured Cabling System
Deep in the Surrey countryside nestles the small villages of Munstead and Hascombe, close to Godalming and Guildford. Reality Logic were contracted to provide a multi-room audio and structured cabling solution within a cottage between the two villages. The cottage was undergoing a complete refurbishment and two storey extension. Reality Logic installed a structured cabling solution that would allow the owner future-proofed access to voice, data and media services. All rooms have be provided network points that can be used to deliver any service, via an under stairs enclosure. An ADSL router, network switch, wireless access point and telephone gateway are included to provide complete access to voice and data services throughout the property.
A key part of the installation is a Sonos Digital Music System multi-room audio solution. The owner already had put the their music collection onto PC so a digital solution was the obvious choice. The Sonos system with it's stylish zone players coupled with a mix of in-ceiling and on-wall speakers provide flexible and robust access to hundreds of tracks. In the conservatory and lounge, KEF Ci400 pods have been used, with the kitchen and master bedroom using Sonance single unit stereo drivers. The kitchen has two of these units to provide a consistent and high quality stereo sound with no separation issues. The master bedroom contains a single stereo speaker, with the beautiful en-suite containing another linked speaker to provide a switched sub-zone.
Three Sonos ZP100 zone players provide amplified access to the music library in the kitchen, conservatory and lounge. The bedroom sports a Sonos ZP80 connected to a Denon mini system. This also provides an input for BBC Radio 2, which is not currently available as an internet stream on Sonos yet. The study is not left out as the owner is able to use the Sonos PC based streaming client to access the library as another player.
Since the original part of the cottage is constructed with solid walls over 300mm deep, the availability of wireless signal through the property is compromised, therefore some of the Sonos zone players are wired into the structured cabling network to ensure connectivity and performance.
How did our customer feel about the work....?
"We are delighted with the way you approached the work and the finished article. Thank you for your hard work."
Pronto TSU9600 controlled A/V System, including PS3, at Canary Wharf
Our customer, a city options trader, has asked Reality Logic to install and configure an A/V set up incorporating a Sony 46" 1080p HD screen, Sony HDMI A/V receiver, Sky HD, Sony Vaio Media Center lifestyle PC and Playstation 3. Audio is provided via the B&W MT30 theatre system that features the stunning PV1 sub-woofer.
Simplified, single point control is being provided via the Philips Pronto TSU9600 unit that enables the sophisticated control of all the devices from a single controller.
Media Room in Residential Property
When the owner of a large house wanted to install a large plasma screen and surround sound system in a dedicated media room he asked Reality Logic to provide a cost effective and professional solution. The owner had already identified the screen he wanted - a 50" Samsung HD ready panel, but wanted advice on what equipment to add to it.
Our client did not want to spent a large sum of money right now but did wnat to have a set-up that was impressive as well as offering scope for upgrading in the future. We approached this brief by firstly ensuring the infrastructure was sound and then specifying components that would offer the best value for money for the budget.
All the wiring was chased into the walls, including for the 5:1 surround sound system. The sub-woofer was placed at the rear of the room, supplied via a custom wall plate. The wiring to the screen included HDMI, SCART, component and VGA as well as the power and terrestrial digital supply.
All the equipment, which includes a Pioneer surround sound receiver, Samsung HDMI enabled DVD player, Sky+ box and VCR, is hidden in a cupboard with each unit fed an IR signal via a Xantech Dinky Link kit.
Home Cinema and Entertainment Room
Reality Logic have completed a home cinema and integrated entertainment installation to create a contemporary entertainment room in an West Sussex property. The installation features a Panasonic projector, 7.1 surround sound through B&W speakers, Sky+ and a titanium Yamaha DVD and A/V receiver. All speaker cabling was completed using QED silver anniversary speaker cable, ensuring a high quality audio feed to each speaker unit. A key feature is the 2.5 x 1.4 metre screen created on a large expanse of wall using Goo Systems Screen Goo high performance acrylic projection paint. Technical issues prevented the cost effective installation of an in-ceiling screen and an on-ceiling option did not meet the aesthetic requirements. The Screen Goo forms an excellent projection surface and allowed Reality Logic to simply overcome the technical issues and create a cost-effective high performance screen.
Also included in the solution was the integration of an entertainment PC along with broadband connectivity. The PC is used for web surfing, games and as a media source for music and video - all on the large screen and with high quality surround sound.
Reality Logic also installed an RGB to YUV (component) convertor to support the supply of a component signal from the Sky+ system into the A/V receiver . This has a highly noticeable and very positive effect on the image quality from the Sky+ system when projected and is thoroughly recommended.
The installation is finished off with a Philips Pronto remote control that replaces all the other remotes and was programmed to allow the straight forward operation of the kit by the whole family.
