The “Joined Up” Building Is Here...
Integrating the building technology systems in your building is not a pipe dream. It is possible to truly integrate the lighting, HVAC, façades, audio/visual, access control and more. Reality Logic can help you break free from the constraints of the “silo” approach to building systems to the freedom of integrated, energy efficient, open and flexible intelligent building technologies.

Lighting
Lighting control is increasingly common however the implementation often provides little benefit over and above traditional methods. Reality Logic understand how to make the most of the lighting system and make it work in harmony with the rest of the building. Exploiting technologies like KNX and DALI gives us the edge in providing energy efficient systems that offer more than just clever effects or a way to switch everything off with one switch.
We make the lighting work with the heating, the façades and so on to ensure that the systems are working together and not against each other. Do more than just switch lights.
Heating, Cooling and Air Handling
Control systems for heating systems already offer sophisticated control however the power is in he integration with other systems in the building. Is your heating control really zonal? Does it really offer the flexibility to easily setup and control different parts of the building with different heating programs? Does it know if the area is occupied, is being ventilated, requires cooling or is being affected by solar gain?
Reality Logic have the experience to integrate with residential and commercial heating, cooling and air handling control systems so that they work in harmony with the building. Working with KNX and Tridium we can support open integration with Trend, Modbus, BACnet, LON and other field protocols, bringing true integration, intelligence and improved energy management.
Façade Management
Reality Logic are highly experienced integrators of sophisticated façade management solutions. We have commissioned systems totaling thousands of blinds in many commercial buildings. Our work on one of the most sophisticated Part L solar tracking solutions in Europe at One Hyde Park won the KNX Installation of the Year 2010 at the 2011 KNX UK AGM and we have completed many other similar projects such as solar gain control at Central St. Giles, Nottingham Trent University and Holburne Museum of Art, Bath.
Audio/Visual
Integration of audio and video services with core building services is a key part of Reality Logic's experience. The move to digital storage of media has made accessibility and control a challenge, whether that be managing multiple iPods, thousands of tracks, hundreds of movies or accessing HD television in many locations.
We work very hard to ensure that quality is kept high, control remains simple and the solutions are kept as cost effective as possible. This applies whether the requirement is multi-room audio/video in a home, home cinema, audio conferencing, digital signage, HD over IP content distribution or any other situation we are asked to look at.
Access Control
Whether the requirement is to control access to home or integrate with a sophisticated system inside a large commercial property, Reality Logic help truly integrate the system to build an intelligent building.
Not only can an access control system manage physical access but it also provides valuable information that can be used to optimise the performance of building. There is, for example, little advantage in heating and lighting a room or building that has no one in it.
For a hotel we can offer a single room controller that will manage the access control, lighting, air conditioning, and blinds/curtains for very little outlay. This makes it very simple to save significant amounts of energy when the room is not occupied
Energy Efficiency
Truly integrated intelligent building technologies are the only way of achieving greater gains in energy efficiency a we move forward. Modern building materials and methods continue to develop but offer ever decreasing incremental improvements. System automation without reference to the the building systems as a whole is not integration and has limited benefit.
For real, measurable and significant energy savings to be made the building systems must be integrated. Only tht way can they work with each other and not against each other. Studies have shown that managing the lighting, heating, occupancy and façade together can easily result in savings of more than 50%.
